The Amstrad Tape Utility

Operation of SPEEDMASTER is very simple. To load,
insert the tape and press CTRL/ENTER together in the
usual way.
When loading is complete you are prompted to:
INSERT MASTER TAPE ... THEN PRESS ANY KEY.
Insert the tape to be copied and press a key, as each
block (or part) is loaded the screen will display the
information on that block.
The loading can be terminated at any point by pressing
ESC, followed by the SPACE bar to resume control.
The various SAVE options are now displayed.
You can first select PROTECTED (P) or NORMAL (N),
a normal version allows you to list protected basic.
SOEEDWRITE 0, 1 or 2 selected the save Baud rate or
speed 0 for slow (normal), 1 for fast, 2 for very fast.
SELECTIVE (S) or TOTAL (T). Total saves the entire
buffer contents. If Selective is chosen the header details
of the current block are displayed and the following
options are offered:-
F - will save from the current block to the end of the
file (inclusive)
B - will save the current block
S - will skip the current block and display the details
of the next block
A - will save the current block to the end of the loaded
content (inclusive)
After you have saved as much or as little as required
you are given the options to make further saves, loads
or to quit.
If you attempt to load more data that the buffer can
hold, a "NO ROOM" message is issued and the program
automatically moves to the start of the save options,
you can then save all the block so far loaded. After
copyintg such part files you can reload the remainder
by selecting "PART LOAD". It is only necessary to
rewind the master tape a short way before commencing
the load. (SPEEDMASTER will not start loading until
it reaches the first uncopied block)
