Well, it's really easy to understand, this little tool allows you to generate your sprites. Most of you knows that LDIR command is really slow, there are other ways to display a sprite but the generated way is the high-speed one. You can use the generated file like you want, you just have to put the display adress (exemple &c000) in HL (in assemblor ld hl,&c000) then just make a call at the sprite location adress (call &4000 if you have loaded your .GEN file at &4000 adress). FUNKY GENERATOR will, at first, ask you about the filename. It must be a .WIN file (OCP ART STUDIO file...). Then the sprites height which must be in lines. You just have to count it under OCP. Now the sprites length which must be in bytes (under OCP, take the X value and do that operation : (((X/2)+1)/4) and you have to take the superior value. Finally, you have to give the screens length. This value is Reg1*2. If you are working on a classic screen, you'll have to give the 80 value. After, FUNKY GENERATOR will give you the file length and ask you about the sprite new filename. It will be saved in .GEN format. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Like you can see, this is really a little tool but, if some persons are really interested about it and use it, I will code again for it, including new options for the display, and many other things. This tool was created just for fun and because I had to use it for myself but if you says me that you are interested, there will certainly be a second version most elaborated.
