This program simulates the experience of being a computer hacker and is
intended solely for entertainment purposes. Activision in no way endorses or
condones any activities associated with gaining illegal entry to computer

LOADING INSTRUCTIONS
COMMODORE 64TM
--------------
Cassette
Make sure that all peripheral equipment such as disk drives are disconnected.
Press down the SHIFT key. Without releasing the SHIFT, press down the RUN/STOP
key. Release the RUN/STOP key and then the SHIFT key. Your TV will read "Press
play on tape". Please follow these instructions. When the title screen appears,
please press the STOP on your cassette recorder.
Disk
Please make sure that all peripheral equipment such as cassette players are
disconnected and that only your disk drive is connected.
TO LOAD YOUR DISK: Insert disk, label side up. Turn computer and disk drive on.
Type: LOAD"*",8,1 and press RETURN.
ATARI 800 XE,XL, 130 XETM
-------------------------
Cassette
Before you load the cassette into your tape recorder please make sure that you
have disconnected all peripheral equipment such as disk drives.
Press PLAY on the tape recorder. Hold down the START and OPTION keys on your
ATARI computer while turning on your machine. After you have heard a "beep"
press the RETURN key. Your program will start loading. This should take several
minutes.
Disk
Your 800 should be off and with no peripherals except your disk drive attached.
Turn on your disk drive. Place diskette into drive one. Hold down the OPTION
key. Turn on your Atari® 800 computer. The game will automatically load from
this point on.
AMSTRAD 464TM

Cassette
Place the cassette in the recorder and rewind to the beginning. Hold down the
CONTROL key and press the small ENTER key. Press PLAY on the cassette
recorder, then any key. The program will then load.

Other computer games often have lengthy instructions to explain how the game is
played.
HackerTM is not like other computer games.
We've told you how to load the program: everything else is up to you. A
real-life hacker would proceed by trial and error: and that's how you play this
game. The only tip we'll give you is, don't play HackerTM like a standard
adventure. You'll get further, faster, if you just try things out, instead of
trying to decide what the next most logical step would be.
So start hacking!
