All command syntaxes can be asked by resquesting help or typing the wanted
commands without any parameter.
- Commands:
* |whelp : Displays the help text.
* |wload,"filename"
: This command loads the file data into the CPC memory.
The file name MUST be typed WITHOUT the WAV extention. The file is supposed to
be a WAV file. Non WAV files will be rejected with an error message.
* |wplay [,"filename"]
: Plays the sound file on port #EF00. When entered with the optional
filename, it loads the WAV file first before playing it. The filename MUST be
typed WITHOUT the WAV extention anyway.
* |rload,"filename.ext",pbfreq,nbbit,offset
: Loads the RAW file whose FULL name is entered in the first field.
Any sound file (and even any file) can be loaded by this command. It is
intended to load and play a file (with |rplay) whose header is unknown but which
contains uncompressed 8 or 16 bit sound data.
- pbfreq : Playback frequency (Hz). This parameter sets the
frequency which the sample will be played at by the
|rplay command. It has no effect on the |rload command.
- nbbit : Number of bits per sample. This parameter is unknown as
it is an unknown file type. The two possible values are
8 or 16. Loading a 8 bit data file with value 16 will
cause the sound to take half of original memory size,
then allowing to load up to 128 Ko sound files.
- offset : Offset. The offset value is added to the original data
before being put in memory. Typical values are 0 for
unsigned data and 128 for signed data.
* |rplay [,pbfreq,offset]
: Plays the RAW file which has been loaded by |rload first. The
optional parameters reset the playback frequency to the value entered and adds
a second offset to the previous one set in the |rload command. The |rplay
without parameters will keep the values of the former command (|rload or
|rplay).
_________________________
SIOU RSX SOUNDPLAYER is a very small program so do not expect terrific
performances. Some WAV files may not be heard properly but you can always try
the 'raw' commands. The file header will be played as a sound but its length
is so short that you will only hear a slight scrash at the beginning of the
sound.
