Benoit Mandelbrot and Taylor, hero of the game, are attending a conference on fractal mathematics. After arrival, Mandelbrot vanishes for a period of time and is later found in a computer room. It becomes clear he was following a hypnotic order by villain Fraktalo and entered a maleficent computer virus into the EarthNet, which will, in a few hours, destroy all mathematical papers. All conference guests are leaving, and Taylor alone has to attempt to find the 12 pieces of a jigsaw puzzle which shows a fractal image (in text form), assemble them correctly and present it to the virus in the fractal computer room.
The game is under time-pressure. At some points the remaining time is depicted.
The parser only considers the first 4 letters per word.
Not all objects or rooms are needed for the solution.
Use commands HELP and LOOK at every object in a room. There might be more things to appear. HELP might be dynamic and could give different answers in a room once some action has been performed therein.
One needs an external calculator and a way to depict a fractal image.
- COMMANDES -
Moving: 1-letter commands N (north), S, W, E, U (up), D (down)
The puzzle assembly command is PUZZle. This shows a new screen with the jigsaw depicted in textual form in colors. Two pieces (or empty spots) swap their location by entering e.g. a2b4, like a chess move. Once finished, type in QUIT. If you're in the fractal computer room, the jigsaw will directly be given to the virus and checked. If not in that room, one simply returns to the general game loop.
